Innovation programs

The Košice 2.0 project offers a wide range of innovation programs that create opportunities to solve urban challenges. They are designed for startups, entrepreneurs, NGOs, professionals in the field of information technology and creative industries, and active citizens of the city.

The goal of innovation programs is to bring real solutions to specific problems defined by the Municipality of Košice and the CX Institute. These will cover a wide range of public services that the city provides to its inhabitants – from public spaces, public transport, parking, culture, education, spatial planning to communication between citizens and local authorities.

Acceleration Program

It will assist participating startups and entrepreneurs in the form of coaching and mentoring. In the acceleration program, a total of 30 startups will receive support, i.e., startup business plans with the potential to bring innovations to city services.

Three rounds of the Acceleration Program will be organized over three years. The three best projects will receive the Accelerator Progress Award.

Inovuj ty!

Each of us can be a driver of innovation. Daily, the city faces challenges that creative people – its inhabitants can solve. This is why the innovation programs also include the Inovuj ty! grant program intended for citizens and non-profit organizations.

The program will support 36 ideas, financially and through mentoring, to improve urban services, public space, communication with the city, and contribute to active citizen participation.

The best innovation is the one based on the user’s own needs. Join and innovate!

Hackathons

Hackathon is an innovative meeting of programmers, designers, graphic designers, marketers, and other innovation enthusiasts. Over several hours or even days, they work together intensively in teams, under experienced mentors’ supervision, and on a pre-selected assignment.

The registered teams will respond to the challenges selected by the Municipality of Košice and the CX Institute, and the winning team will receive the Hackathon Award.

Meetups & events

They support networking and cooperation between creatives, startups, citizens, entrepreneurs, and local government representatives.

The local events (workshops, lectures, or informal meetings) are to develop existing partnerships and involve communities working in our city in the project.

On the other hand, meetups will support the emergence of new multidisciplinary collaborations between community members, such as non-profit organizations or startups, local governments, entrepreneurs, cultural professionals, and the creative sector.
